BMC TM01 build thread - out with the old, in with the new!
 

Took the day off to build up my new time trial bike, thought I would share my progress.

First off, here is the bike this one is replacing. A 2011 BMC TT02, it is a great bike, I just fell in love with the TM01 so I had to get it.

So far today I have managed to strip down the TT02 and just got started building the new bike. This bike has all kinds of new gizmos that are going to cause me some head scratching.

First off, bb install.

Sweet looking frameset, reminds me of a stealth bomber.

Don't tell anyone but I kind of cheated on this step. The quarq magnet is supposed to be epoxied straight to the frame. I just couldn't bring myself to doing that to a brand new $4,500 frameset so I cheated. I applied a lizards skin frame protector and then epoxied the magnet to it. Hopefully that works out alright.

Your bike says "Made in Taiwan" ...

(Not that it makes any difference, just felt like pointing that out.) :innocent:

I think it's "swiss engineering" but most bikes now are made in China/Taiwan. I think the Impec is the only one made in house at their facility.

Damn Taiwan piece of crap, I'm going to go run over it with my car now. :(

aecky01, I plan to upgrade the cockpit later on, just want to make sure of my positioning before I spend a bunch of cash on bars I don't care for.

Beautiful, but the aero bars aren't even.

Man I love that bike, I just wish it would fit me :(

Your basebar makes me sad though, get on ebay and get yourself an old UCI illegal Vision basebar already.

From the frontvieq pic they do look crooked. They were adjusted the same on the other bike, didn't loosen them from the base bar. So, they should be straight but I will check them.
