Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Colnago C-40 geometry

I have a chance to buy a 2002 Colnago C-40 at a very good price, but can't get to it to see how well it fits before the auction ends. I've seen the specs on the Colnago site and can compare to the specs for my Trek (60cm and fits me well), but wanted some real-world tales of C40 fit from the folks here. I'm 6' 2" and the C40 is a 58cm with an 82.5 stand-over height, 56.3 ctc top tube, and 56 ctc seat tube. My Trek is just a centimeter larger on all measurements. Thanks folks.

You should be fine. Colnago's horizontal tt geometry is designed in such a way to put the rider over the wheels so have to use a setback seat post and a long stem to get the most benefit out of these beauties. I am 6' and a 56cm fits me just fine.
