Topeak Dynapack and Madone Seatmass

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Topeak Dynapack and Madone Seatmass

Hey Guys,

Would the Topeak Dynapack fit on a Madone's carbon seatmass?

The Dynapack is held onto the seatpost with a circular band, which is tightened with an allen key. They provide several sizes, but they're all round.

If the seatmast is round, it should fit. If it's oval, it probably will not fit properly.

Another issue is that there's a limit to the torque you can apply to the seatmast. You'll need to use a torque wrench.

I think it'd be easier to use something else, such as a combination of saddlebag and bento box.

2. DynaPack is not suitable or intended to be used with carbon fiber seatposts.

Just read this in the manual.

I liked the DynaPack for its size, especially the larger one. Great to hold clothes / shoes / essentials.

I absolutely love my Dynapack DX (large) bag. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to ditch their backpack! As stated already though, may be unsafe for carbon posts??? Mine's aluminum.

One rack that works well on CF seatposts and we've used on a Trek Madone is the Arkel Randonneur Rack. It attaches quickly to the seat rails and rests against the seatpost with a flexible rubber collar held in place with velcro. I know quite a few others who have used this rack on other bikes with CF seatposts with good success.
