Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

bearing cover options for cannondale synapse carbon.....

i recently purchased a 2012 synapse carbon w/ultegra in team replica colors... pics to follow shortly

however, i want to do away with the 25mm carbon top cap or bearing cover that sits on top of the headset

i want to replace it with something lower, i would appreciate any thoughts on my options..... looking for something in the 8-10mm range

first, what is the lowest top cap that i can run on the synapse carbon with the stock headset? the specs of my bike list the headset as "synapse Si headset" does anyone if it is made by tange? is the top bearing an bearing cover the same as on the caad 10?

second, could i run one of these 8mm metallic poutine spacers?

https://metallicpoutine.com/headset-b...-covers/v-1-1/

on the webiste, it says the version 1.1 are compatible with synapse, but it doesnt say if its the synapse carbon or alloy or what model year.... according to the website, as long as the headset it a tange system integrated headset, then the spacer will fit

any thoughts? other options for lowering my bearing cover?

thanks
