Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fuji Roubaix 105

I found this bike on sale at a local shop, though they say theirs is a 2012:

https://bikemastersaz.com/bikes-for-s...mited-edition/

It's very similar to a Roubaix 1.3 but with a different frame I guess. I was very close to buying a Ridley Icarus Tiagra at Competitive Cyclist.com

Could you help me compare the components? In the store I found the Fuji they also have at same price a CAAD8 Tiagra and a Synapse 6. I like the 105 shifters better but I wonder what do you think of the Fuji frame and other components compared to those two Cannondale and the Ridley Icarus that looks gorgeous and has a price tag of 1,500...

I'm probably buying this weekend!

Thanks.

Looks pretty good to me. I have a Cannondale Synapse I love, but my wife has a Fuji she likes. I would certainly spend the extra money to have the 105. Good luck!

I don't think aluminum road frames with Shimano 105 for $1k are that hard to come by outside of the big name brands. Bikes Direct has a carbon fiber 105 equipped Fuji bike on clearance for $1300 that you might want to consider.

They have vidoes on the site but pretty sure you just install the wheels, seat post, fork and stem. Pretty much if you can fix a flat, change a seat and a stem you can assemble a bike from them.

performance bikes sells that same bike.

if they have it on your local PB... you should buy it from them. you can test ride it and even do basic fitting for you.

you also get free lifetime basic maintenance and adjustment. if you get their buyer's card, you also get 10% back on every purchase.

FINALLY I BOUGHT MY FIRST ROAD BIKE! It's a Fuji Roubaix 2012 with Shimano 105 components, from Quad Cycles in Arlington. I'm truly excited to get in the road soon, well, after I buy shoes and pedals

Thanks to everyone for the advice and 2cents (though more than 2 cents would have help with the price)

Congrats on the new bike. On the other hand, if I hadn't just bought a new (to me) truck, that Kestrel would be mine. That's a big up from my '98 super sport.

I was very close to the same one, same color, but they didn't have my size. Mine isn't actually a 1.0, it's a Roubaix 105 model made for Europe and some U.S. retailers already have it. Both bikes are almost identicals but I think yours have a different (newer?) frame (the A2-SL vs. the Altair 2)...

sucks that even the 2013 altamiras with the new c5-c15 carbon still doesn't have internal routing.
