Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Roller vs magnetic trainer tire wear

So I have an opportunity to buy a Cycle Ops Magnetic indoor trainer or kreitler bicycle roller both for quite cheap. I know that the traditional magnetic trainers are quite harsh on the rear tire, I'm wondering if rollers are as tough on tires or if they are comparable to regular road riding.
Thanks

rollers will wear the back out much slower than a trainer. The front will get a tiny bit of wear on rollers vs 0 on trainer.

rollers are easier on tires than the road, though that really shouldn't be your criteria when selecting an indoor training system.

I agree with above. Go for the rollers if you can get a good price and get trainer after. Easy to find a good trainer on craigslist, not so much with rollers.
