    2012 Cannondale SuperSix EVO Di2

After 4 years of faithful service, I have retired my 2008 Orbea Orca frameset and it is now on its way to a new owner. It was an awesome bike that indeed turned heads everywhere. Now I have decided to make my dream bike of 2012 come true ...

    2012 Cannondale SuperSix EVO Di2 (56cm)

    • Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 7970 Groupset
    • Cannondale Hollowgram SL BB30 Cranks
    • FSA Super Road DA79 N10 Compact Chainrings (may upgrade to Praxis Works chainrings)
    • Zipp 404 Firecrest Clinchers
    • Hutchinson Fusion 3 Road Tubeless Tires
    • FSA K-Force Seatpost
    • Stealth Pro Integrated Handlebars
    • Fizik Aliante Saddle
    • Fizik Microtex Bar Tape
    • Look Keo Blade pedals
    • Moro D' Elite Bottle Cages

    Total weight = 15.58lbs

The bike accelerates and climbs better than my Orbea. It is also super smooth, but I think it is because I am running lower pressures on a tubeless setup. It is a very stiff bike yet it doesn't beat me up too much on the rough surfaces. I really like that there are no external cables along the top tube or the down tube. The internal Di2 option, in my opinion, was a good investment and worth the extra cost. Front shifting is fine, but I heard that there are better chainring options like the Praxis Works. We'll see. Overall, I LOVE this bike!

Nice bike. Cannondale is continually showing up everywhere. Every time I turn around there is another one on the road around here.

Really nice looking. Also glad you posted true bike weight. It's good to see realistic weights of complete bikes rather than people claiming their bikes weigh 12 and 13 LBS.
You're just trying to start an argument to show how smart you are.

This also underscores why it may be years before I upgrade my Cervelo S2, which has a Powertap on the Zipp 404s and Di2 and weighs about 17lbs in that configuration. I'm not going to spend $10K+ to shave a pound. At some point upgrades become incremental.

PCad is correct about 10g for two pounds. It would cost less for the rider to loose the 2 or more pounds.

That is ALWAYS true. And you can't compare the two. Because you can still lose the 2 lbs after owning a lighter bike. somebody telling me to lose 2 lbs is cheaper wouldn't realize that some people like myself are already at Ideal cycling weight. The next step is being undernourished for the rides because it's cheaper than buying a nicer bike? No thanks doctor interwebs. Granted, I am certainly not going to run out and spend 10k on a bike simply because I'm not fast enough to be needing a better bike. I just need better motor, which in my case may include eating more or more nutritionally efficient anyways as apposed to the simply answer of Lose 2 lbs.

Dead sexy bike. Love the EVO, but my wife doesn't love me enough to let me get one.

Of course, I'm actually with PCad and everyone here on the incremental weight savings. My CAAD9 weighs in at 16.5 with some fairly boring alloy wheels in a 32/28 spoke count, and with the bottle cages, and with the pedals on, computer, etc. Didn't really go ultra weight-weenie with the parts either...which means that if I tried I could easily push it down to 16 or even below. I haven't even weighed it with my lighter wheel set on.

So that's actually the biggest reason I haven't ponied up for the Supersix EVO. But I like to give my wife grief about it.
    Good night...and good luck

ONE pound. My S2 has a power meter and Zipps and weighs 17lbs. That Cdale is 15.5 lbs but with no PM. ONE POUND.

But that EVO Di2 is a bike that I had my eye on. Gorgeous setup. Now of course it's 11 speed, which really is a DISincentive to upgrade. Too many ten speed wheels.

Awesome looking bike! But are there any warranty concerns running 404 clinchers with tubeless?
