Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is Probikekit now charging for shipping?

Two times this week, and also just a few minutes ago, I've put items in my cart on Probikekit's site, only to go to checkout to find them asking for shipping option, but with attendant shipping cost.

Both times I cancelled the orders.Obviously it's a new thing, or is my server acting up?

Thanks.

As far as I know, they've always charged for shipping to Australia.

Okay, but I have been buying from them for years, and they've never charged shipping to California, where I'm at. I have never bought bulk items like wheels and frames from them before, and I am not surprised they charge shipping for those kind of stuff, but the regular stuff, like tires, tubes, cassettes, chains etc that I've always bought regularly from them were always shipped free.

I think that's the default. If you don't pick any express options, it goes to zero for shipping

No, I think they sneaked in shipping cost with purchases now. It would have been classy of them to make a note of it on their website, as a kind of heads up.

Gasoline and diesel goes up, shipping goes up. Get used to it. Vote it down while you have the chance...

In California you can vote on absolutely anything provided you have enough dollars to get a proposition on the ballot. Our legislators do absolutely nothing. It's in the hands of the voters and the wealthy proposition sponsor individuals and organizations who shove these bad laws down our throats.
