Chinese knockoffs....ever buy one or would you

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have been trying to talk myself out of building one of these for a while. This might just put me over the edge. I should be able to sell my roubaix for a decent amount as well which would offset the costs.
Anyone want a 2010 Specialized robaix elite? lol

My mistake. I confused with the listing company called Topkey. Bianchi is made by Hodaka which is private.

I didn't and I won't. Ever.

For so many times discussed reasons, most important being - I have no idea how well it is build, and that is not something I want to think about while going fast.

So you have to ask yourself--do I trust my health to a company that is actively selling in my area and has the risk of liability associated with that transaction, or am I comfortable buying a product from an untouchable overseas company.

each person has to make that call for themselves based on their risk/comfort level and their health/dental/life/disability insurance policies.
What he said.

I'd look for a closeout on something like a Kestrel Talon or Fuji SST and sell of either the old parts or the new parts that I didn't want on the bike... You could make out pretty decent I think?

I've been riding a PedalForce QS2 for 6 years. The QS2 was an open mold frame, and Pedal Force basically re-sells chinese frames and provides a warranty and service from the US. Frames that look the same as the QS2 were also sold by Ibis (for more $$) and LaPierre (for much more $$). Of course it's impossible to know if the layup was the same on those, even if the mold was.

The QS2 is my rain/backup/night bike. I've ridden it in races, down steep mountain passes and in the Death Ride (when my Cervelo was broken). I haven't died yet. It hasn't broken. Unlike my Cervelo, purchased at the same time. I'm on my second one of those.

I've since bought carbon rims from china. They're pretty good considering the price. You do have to be careful where you get stuff and do the research before buying.
