White Handlebars w/ black tape
Hey guys,
I'm building a new bike, and I haven't decided on stem/handlebar brands/color. I have decided to go integrated, but was wondering if anyone has a white stem/handlebars with black bar tape? Usually it's the other way around, or people who do have white dropbars also use white tape.
Pictures would be appreciated.

I have a white stem/handlebars to match the white saddle without having to worry about replacing the tape constantly. It still shows a little dirt, but easier to clean paint than handlebar tape. My saddle is another story, not very white anymore. I'll eventually go all black I think. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are going to have a white saddle to match it up a bit.

yes, i'm definately going with a white saddle and nice bike.
I won't be taking the tape all the way in, and probably going to stop right after the hoods.

My personal opinion would be to only use white bars if you have a white frame. I think the black tape looks fine, but the bars stick out too much if the frame is a different color. My $.02

IMHO white bar tape is a bad fashion fad that will go out of style when the current crop of users goes to change their bar tape and finally realized it was just simply stupid

I would have to agree with you, but i was trying to find a picture to see how it looks before i made the decision.
yes, agree also, hence the reason why i'm considering a white stem/bar with black tape.

How about opting for a 2 tone bar tape (white + black)?

I swapped my bars on my new Fixed gear ride and got some good white tape, like the look and feel...Heck of a workout too

I'm thinking white bar tape wouldn't look white for very long after sweeping the tires of debris with my gloves a few times.
