Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Scott CR1 Team 2012

Went to the LBS today looking for a new bike, currently on a 2005 Bianchi Imola. I really like the 2012 Scott CR1 Team. I was hoping to get a carbon Ultegra ride, but the Team is sale and I'm not sure the price difference is worth it. Anyone have any input?

Apologies for the 'what should I buy thread' but the sale ends this upcoming weekend and I haven't been looking long.

Thanks,
Ryan

I love my CR1 Team (2012). Its stiff, climbs well and corners great. I don not regret getting it one bit.

Honestly there isn't a lot of difference between 105 and Ultegra other than weight. They both shift great. My only suggestion would be to possibly change your user name if you plan on sticking around.

I like 105 and after getting ultegra for another build, I thought it wasn't worth the extra cost.

Wasn't Ryan F permanently banned?

I guess there's a space difference.

Yep, I don't know if that space is enough. I wouldn't want my user name to be anywhere close to his.

I bought the CR1 Team, ended up getting one for the girlfriend too. I've been looking for the Scott bottles and cages but can't find them. LBS doesn't carry them and the manufacturer has not stock. I looked online but could only find them in England. Any ideas where I might be able to find some?
Thanks,
Ryan
