Gatorskin tubular tire pressure?
Just put on a set, max says 170PSI and my mech said I should pump around 150psi for my 82kg weight. Currently have it set at 140f/150r. Do i need to pump these up everyday, since they aren't latex inner tubes? I will go for a longer ride tomorrow to test them out. I usually ride 105f/110r on my 4000s clinchers.

Site says 110psi, what do you guys recommended?
thanks

I recommend a new mechanic.
The recommended pressure (or even a bit less, particularly if it's wet) is going to be way more comfortable to ride, and give lower rolling resistance than 140psi, and certainly 170.
Unless you're riding a smooth wooden track (and then you wouldn't choose Gatorskins) there's just no reason to run really high pressures.

I am heavier than you (88-94kg) and I have never gone above 115psi (the recommended), 110psi is fine during the summer. I currently run 105psi in the wet, I am tempted to go lower as well.
Here is my experience with these tyres.

They are nice training tyres, however, the only time you need 170psi is just after you glue them so they seat nicely on the rim. or for track racing, where the Gatorskin is not the best choice as pointed out earlier.

I just pump to normal 110 or so after gluing and for riding regardless of brand.

And new tires while you're at it.
Any advantages of going tubular are erased by the GS which is a heavy and crappy rolling tire with miserable grip. You may get excellent mileage and cut resistance, but it ain't worth it.
In any case, check the specs for your rims before using such insane pressures. Just because the tires can handle it doesn't mean the rims can.

Definitely an issue with clinchers. However, with Tubulars, the tire casing, rather than the rim sidewalls, is taking the pressure, so not really a concern.

@260 (when I had tubulars) I only ran 105f/110r and they were perfectly fine. My LBS told me to run the pressure that I run on clinchers and I have never looked back.... then again, I sold the tubulars too... cuz I didn't want to spend that cash and 700x25 GP4Ks clinchers felt better and I neigh never flat anyway.
