Voler Caliber bibs on Sale for $83.50 shipped from Voler.com
I have a pair of these - really comfy Chrono SLM pad and made in USA.

generalkdi 03-11-14 10:22 AM

I have one of these and really don't like it.

I dont know if this considered "Selling" or not but I'll post it and if it needs to be taken down, I'm sure a mod will take proper action.

I am not selling this. I will not gain anything out of the sale, but a friend of mine who is the engineer behind the new HiFi carbon wheels is selling a brand new Ultegra 6800 groupo. All of it is new.

Ultegra 6800 Shifters (Has shift and brake cables as well)
Ultegra 6800 FD
Ultegra 6800 RD (Both Front and RD still have the protective cover on them)
Shimano Ultegra chain
Crankset (I believe it is standard)
The brake calipers are Colnago dual pivot though (Brand new)
Bottom Bracket

All for $825 (I think she is asking $30 for shipping because of the wheels)

AND a brand new set of Colnago Artemis CW32 ALU 11 speed wheels For free. Has 11 speed Shimano free hub

It is a great deal and thought i would share. PM me for contact information.

Like many of us, I'd be interested in 6800 at the right price. But the groupset is cheaper at both PBK and Merlin (with 6800 calipers). The wheelset could make it a deal, but reviews don't look favorable at all (heavy). If she's taking offers (with or without the wheels/calipers), let me know. I would also need the specific crankset details (including arm length). Thx!

Yeah you can get the 6800 groupset for $700 shipped:
Shimano Ultegra 6800 11 Spd Double Groupset at Ribble Cycles

It was around $600 shipped a couple of months ago.

Google converts that to $852.38 USD.

Which is the correct price using your settings.

When the currency and destination are changed to the US and USD, the price changes to $706 or so for me due to non-UK residents not having to pay VAT.

+1, but they appear to be sold out at the moment. Merlin and PBK are in the $750 range.

Certainly the calipers detract from the deal...and I personally don't think the wheels add enough (no interest in 'em). Oh well, I'm sure she'll find a buyer.

bianchi10 03-14-14 12:55 PM

Thanks for the heads up fellas. I didnt realize you could get it at that price. She didnt either.

Often times, the UK sellers will sell Shimano groupsets (shipped) for less than dealer cost stateside. It's one of the reasons Shimano is tinkering with their distribution scheme.

$1699 for Reynolds Assault wheels with Powertap G3 (performance edition). Seems like a bangin deal for some decent carbon clinchers paired with a decent power meter. Been on the website for awhile now.

Cool site glitch!

On Nashbar as of this morning, their mobile site (worked on my iPhone 4s) is displaying:

Vuelta Corsa Lites at $249.99
Vuelta SLR $299.99 Edit: these are the super lites, not SLR

Code: 38476 (Free shipping, drops the shipping to 14.99 since it's a bulk item)

Website has been updated to match mobile site, except the for the Corsa Lites

Hi all,

Easton EC90 SL for $215 Canadian (get it now while the CDN:USD exchange rate is painful for Canadians...) and received free shipping.

NEW Easton EC90 SL Fork 1 1/8 - Road Bike - Forks & Suspensions - Components

I ordered Monday, received Tuesday, shipped from Quebec to Ontario. Product is brand new. Caveat though, I had some carbon rattling in a leg which may simply be a one-off - I'm considering, but not really inclined to return the item.

I found the retailer through eBay, and they accept PayPal.

Merlin cycles has 6800 OEM groupsets for $691 USD with a choice of:

172.5mm 34/50 Chainset - 11/25 Cassette
175mm 34/50 Chainset - 11/25 Cassette
172.5mm 34/50 Chainset - 11/28 Cassette (Blue Brake Cables)'

I'm thinking the 172.5 34/50 + 11/25 cassette is about right for me...

My LBS here in wine country is having a really good deal on Bianchi this weekend. Full carbon Sempre with Ultegra is $1999 (discounted from around $3K). Not sure what sizes they have. Also deals on non carbon models. We're an hour north of SF. Can't say enough about this place. The owners Richard and Liz got me on my road bike and have kept me rolling with advice, counsel and good prices. Good people. Call or stop by if you're local and tell them Elizabeth sent you. The place is called Spoke Folk Cyclery.

So i ordered an ultegra double compact crankset from probike. Was over two weeks waiting on it. Opened it and they sent a tripple crankset. It also just came in a clear bag no instructions nothing. I informed them and sent pics. They admitted they sent wrong thing. There solution i pay to send it back and they pay the shipping up to 15 percent of the value of the purchase. they also said im responsible if there are any damages on the way back. Cheapest i could ship it was 46 dollars so im out money for their mistake. Its also going to take 2 weeks to get back to them and another 2 to send me a new one on top of the 2 i allready waited. so total 6 weeks to get the right one and out money for their mistake. am i wrong for being upset.

PBK has been sucking since the change in ownership. I have stopped buying from them completely. Wiggle and Ribble have been perfect to deal with. Just bought a set of Dura Ace 9000 C50 wheels from Planet X and they got here in less than a week. That was the first time I dealt with them.

I like MerlinCycles. Everything else is Ebay. For me, the Chinese Ebay are the fastest and best to deal with. They respond within 8 hours, and answer questions, change order, very easy to deal with. Great sellers IMO. Ironically, they can process an order, ship it and have it at more door faster than JensonUSA, Bikewagon, Backcountry and other US sellers.

I did order a replacement crank from PBK, by far the slowest I've dealt with for bike parts. Chinese Ebay could have somethign at my door before PBK even processed the order....

ClarkinHawaii 04-05-14 07:47 AM

Can you give an example of a couple of companies you have dealt with successfully on this Chinese ebay? What kind of stuff have you bought? Are you talking about ebay.cn or regular ebay? I'm intrigued! What happens if there's a problem and you have to send something back to China? I made a successful purchase of a carbon frame, forks, and miscellany from Hong-Fu a few years back, but it sure wasn't easy!

That echoes the experience I had with them when I ordered my Di2 stuff. Specifically asked if the kit they were selling had the short battery mount, told yes in writing. Some weeks later, everything shows up. Not sure if the parts were new take-offs (they weren't marketed as such), but everything arrived in one box...and they actually used crumbled up pages from the manuals as packing material. And they shipped me a long battery mount. Got in touch with them and they refused to do ANYTHING about it.

First and absolute last time I'll ever do business with those clowns.

cycledogg 04-05-14 06:02 PM

I stopped using PBK a few years ago. At first, they were my go to web bike shop. But once the items took weeks close to a month to get here I stopped and now I use Ribble and Merlins for over the pond bike shops. Strange, UK stuff is cheaper and often faster than US.
Cheers

Since my riding ability and fitness doesn't require a top level carbon, I did the same. Flyxii off of regular Ebay had my bike shipped before my cables, chain, tube replacement pack kit arrived. It took these US dealers 2 days to process the orders. I have the frame, I'm still waiting for the chain to be shipped from Florida. It's ridiculous how long it takes for US dealers to process orders. I ordered handlebar from Nashbar, it took them 2 days to process order and another 3 days to ship it. I ordered the matching stem from Taiwanese Ebay dealer, it arrived in 3 days, processed and shipped same day.

Chinese/Taiwanese ebay rock. I've also had Intel i7 3740QM (it's legit, and overclocks well, love it, is there even counterfeit 22nm Intel chips?) and an Nvidia GTX 675MX from Taiwan, here in 3 days for both. Simply fantastic. NewEgg often can get it to me in 3 days, but that's from NJ, this is coming from Taiwan + customs.
