Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ultegra Di2 with power kit for $1045 is the one that caught my eye. I just ordered one!

FYI, the included power kit comes with an internal battery and assumes internal wiring. The included cables seem a bit on the long side (1200mm, 950, 550, 350 x 3). I have an older frame that needed an external battery and external wiring, so I called them up and they were happy to swap everything around, including the cable lengths. The price did go up slightly, because the base kit doesn't include the $60 external battery mounting bracket and a few other odds and ends. I spoke with Rob at extension 4053 who was very helpful and seemed to know Ultegra Di2 very well.

Ribble's regular price for 6800 is around $600 but unfortunately they are sold out right now because they are giving an extra 11% off everything

probikekit is selling the 6800 group for $600, free shipping.

I got half of my new race build from them yesterday.

all that's left is a nice compact handlebar (42mm) and a stiff stem (probably 12mm but won't know until I get the frame). let me know if you know any good deals on that.

ProBikeKit is also heavily discounting Ultegra pedals for Cyber Monday if it's not yet Tuesday wherever you are.

These gloves on ebay are quite decent and amazingly inexpensive, at $4 and change per pair.

4 Colors Sports Racing Cycling Bike Bicycle Gel Half Finger Gloves Size M L XL | eBay

I bought a pair, was quite pleased with them, and proceeded to buy a couple more pairs. They run slightly small - I normally would take a Medium, and the Large fit me quite well.

Who said I dont?

I wont buy wheels from someone who buys wheels from china then marks them up to major manufacturer prices. Why? because I will just buy from the major manufacturers at that point.

500$ for 2quik's wheels? yeah I may give them a shot. 999$? for them? I'll just go buy DA, or other major manufacturer, wheels

Don't bring that conversation into this thread.

Was about to order, but my wife told me to hold off, since it is on my list. An hour later, she says, "never mind, go ahead and order," and now the coupon code won't work. I missed out on this. Shame.

Unfortunately, you can't use the $20 on Garmin. Thanks for the link, though. I think I'm probably waiting until Christmas.

If you don't already have a Road ID, there's still ~3 hours left to get one for $18. The styles are priced differently, so that may or may not be a great deal, depending.

FYI - for orders overseas over $200 going to NYC. They applied customs duty of 2.75, not too bad on a $447 order from England. The additional fees of 21.50 ticked me off. I only ordered because of the sale, not that I needed any parts =). I told them to return to shipper. If the order is less than $200, the duty does not apply. All my orders overseas will now be under $200. =)

It may apply to other areas, but I can't speak to that.

REI.com is having a sale on some 2014 bike helmets. For example,

Giro Air Attack is only $99 and they have all sizes.

Also, if you're lucky and use a size small, you can get the Giro Air Attack Shield for only $89
