Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Increased Flexibility...nice

We'll after that ankling thread I went to my bike to screw around with the saddle height so I could do some of this ankling. So while I jacking up the seat and I also decided to put the seat all the way rearward on my thomson straight clamp just for the hell of it. Funny thing I noticed was that when I got on my bike was that I was so much more flexible than before...even with 150mm stem and the seat all the way back it didn't feel uncomfortable.

Well the ankling thing didn't really seem all that great, but I noticed something that all newbie's should be aware of. Your ideal geometry will change the longer you ride. That mega buck dream bike you are eyeing today for your first bike may completely be wrong for you in 6 months to a year.

Wow. I've gone from a 100mm stem to a 150mm stem in not a long time. That 150mm stem would have killed me the first time I rode a bike, but now that 100mm stem would seem ridiculous.

Yeah I need a bigger frame. I'm 6'2" and I ride a 59cm frame with a 57cm top tube. Funny how it seemed plenty big when I first got it.

150mm stem means frame is too small. It came stock with 130mm stem because of slack head tube angle.....and when I first got it the 130mm stem seemed to long

I wonder if other people noticed this too....the gradual increase in flexibility.
