Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Widest tires on Specialized Dolce comp?

Anyone know what the widest width tire a 2012 Specialized Dolce comp will accommodate? A friend wants to try a gravel road ride but needs wider tires. How wide can we go?

Thanks!

I can promise that you can get 28's on there with ample room - my wife's Dolce has 28 Gatorskin on it. I doubt you can get 32's on it though.

As far as getting the wheel off and on w/ 28s on it (we do it regularly to put it on a fork mount in the car), you almost have to deflate the tire a little and re-inflate, but that's not a big deal.

What he said - exact same experience here. 28s if you are willing to deflate a bit to get the tires out or back in. I doubt 32s would clear and if you have fenders then 25s maybe.
