Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pics of You on Your Bicycle in 2013

We've had a few of these threads over the past few years, so here it is again for 2013.

Now, this particular photo thread can be a bit of a challenge. It is not always easy getting a photo of yourself ON your bicycle, riding your bicycle. Usually someone else has to take it, and then give it to you. But, last year I was able to take a photo of me riding my bicycle, so that is a possibility too.

Let's see YOU riding your bicycle ... or at least on your bicycle

Here's one of me cycling through the Cheviot Tunnel on Anzac Day ...

Oh, what the heck! I'll start!

I'm the one with the red jacket. It was taken on one of our handfull of days that we needed to wear more than short sleeve jerseys and shorts. The ride is Bike Forum's 50+ Withlacoochee Trail Bike Ride in Central Florida.

I had on leg and arm warmers with my short sleeve jersey and shorts. The jacket is a nylon rain jacket I picked up at Target. I wore it because it was also windy that day and that jacket does great in the wind. I don't think it really gets that cold here in Florida for anything heavier than warmers.

I am thinking about getting a wind stopping shell. 20+mph sustained winds projected down here. The cold only sucks if you can't stop the winds. Don't think I will get legwarmers as I would hardly ever use them.

I was only going to give it an A- until I saw the matching cap. A+

Extra credit if there is a Brooks under there somewhere.

Land Park Crit E3. I'm going after a prime; my teammate is softpedaling at the front, just enough to let me get away.

Just getting some MTB practice in by our local river Mersey.

The top one is coming back over a mound which is not very high but pretty steep and the bottom one down a slope off the top path on the river bank which my partner spotted and challenged me to come down.

Minus the heavy rucksack for obvious safety reasons!
