Best long distance saddle out there: Adamo Podium?
Anyone has any experience with multiple saddles and finally had a revelation about one kind?
I heard that the Adamo Podium was good for triathlon as you can go forward on the tip to use the quads more efficiently in aero position without having any pressure on the perineral surface for compression of the nerves. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-2011-ISM-...item51963ca66a
Any hints would be appreciated as I am doing my first Ironman distance on the 18th of August and I don't want my 180k to be a mess because of a a bad saddle.
Right now I have the sella italia Kevlar T1 saddle which is rubbing my thigh bilaterlay on 40 kms... I can't imagine using this saddle for 180 kms.
Cheers

I like the Adamo that you are talking about, it was the only seat that relieved my perineum pain until I managed to score a better looking seat and lighter while giving me the same comfort, maybe better since I found the podium to be very hard.
selle italia slr superflow 145 and selle italia tekno flow.
i only bought the tekno recently to try out. It replaced one of my superflows. The other two bikes still have a white superflow on them.

which is the better saddle - ISM adamo or the superflow. I've got 2 ISM ATTACK and they have completely removed the perineum pain. In fact on a recent off road ride i noticed the seat completely disappeared under me - which was incredible. I'm looking for one more for my 3rd bike and want to try out the Superflow. It looks like it could work too but i need some feedback.

I have the Adamo Prologue, which is the same shape as the Podium but with slightly softer padding (based on ISM's descriptions, I haven't directly compared the two). I've been very happy with the saddle, and have done rides up to 100km without discomfort or numbness.

I have done the saddle mapping thing recently and have tested quite a few in the past couple weeks. What I learned is that a rounded seat with or without cutout at around 131 mm width is pretty good for me. This flies in the face of my sit bones measurement which says I should have 143 mm width. For me a wide nose is a deal breaker unless I sit up on the nose...which is not quite right anyway. As always it's a very individual thing.

I'm currently riding the Toupe, because I need a flat saddle Is this one as flat as it looks? Also looks like it has a bit more padding than the Toupe

If you posted this question in the long distance forum, most of the posters would probably tell you to get a brooks B-17 and to heck with the weight.

I thought the Avocet Touring series were widely considered the most comfortable saddle of all time. They still come up on ebay.

I wonder why the guys that ride the most (the pros) never use saddles like this.
It took me about a year and 8-10 saddles bought and sold on Ebay before I found the perfect one for me.

The pros ride what they are paid to endorse. If their team is sponsored by Shimano, there isn't going to be any SRAM or Campy on that bike, period. If the company has multiple models, then at least you're not stuck with only one choice.

That said, I have found that while saddles are indeed personal, a good fit can also make a huge difference. If you are not sitting properly on the bike (fore-aft position, hip angle, leg extension, etc.) then there is a chance no saddle will work.

I heard that the Adamo Podium was good for triathlon as you can go forward on the tip to use the quads more efficiently in aero position without having any pressure on the perineral surface for compression of the nerves. NEW 2011 ISM Adamo Podium Seat Saddle Road Triathlon | eBay
Any hints would be appreciated as I am doing my first Ironman distance on the 18th of August and I don't want my 180k to be a mess because of a a bad saddle.

I have tried about 20 saddles in the last 5 years, including the Adamo Podium, which I bought but don't use. Instead the Fizik Arione VS has become my long distance saddle, including a 300km ride in June and 178km La Marmotte in July, that said, saddles are as individual as shoes, and I have and even harder time finding shoes I like...
