My first weekend on the road= sufferfest
sadly this weekend was my first time out on the road and well it was not fun. A winter on a spin bike and a few mt bike on the road rides yielded ZIPPO in lungs and legs once on the road. The bike was tuned up with new bar tape and was flawless.. However it felt weird, bars to narrow and my lungs just could not provided the legs with any energy....I rode the tandem today and legs felt like jelly.....so happy we changed the time I need to get on theroad.

It's that time of year I guess when so many of us pay the piper for winter transgressions. I work at a ski resort and enjoy playing in the snow but alas no lung benefits. Good luck keep riding!

I took a few weeks off, went to spin class on Thursday and had a miserable day today. When you are chasing PRs on Strava it definitely helps with intervals more than trainerroad ever did. But holy hell, I'm still recovering.
I hit 201bpm (most ever hit wearing a HRM) and did a 0.5mi 2.6% grade at 20.1mph (there's a downhill just before it where I hit 33.5mph). Then I bonked Took a breather for a few minutes because I was about to puke.
2 weeks makes a HUGE difference when training. Now that I have a century scheduled in May there's no way I can take that much time off.

The nice winter weather here meant lots of commuting on my bike, but plenty of laziness otherwise.

The 25 mph winds today were a bit of a sufferfest too.

I'm so glad I spent the winter training and riding rather than taking it off, now I get to be the one who brings the pain at the start of the season!
