I found that the way to ensure your barend plugs don't bother you is to get going really fast, say bombing down a steep, long hill, and use the heel of your palm to bang that plug in nice and tight.
Do that once and you'll never care about your barend plugs ever again.

Reasonably Slow...
Much to my dismay, one of the end caps fell out of my handlebars tonight as I was leaving work.
Now I am not really sure where to look to find new ones. Are there different sizes I need to be concerned about?
Are there any that anyone can recommend? I will be calling a local bike shop tomorrow to inquire about them as well, but I'm not opposed to looking online. I checked the REI website and they don't seem to have any that aren't bundled with bar tape, and I'm not exactly prepared to change my bar tape just yet—it isn't disgusting enough to be changed yet, and I quite like the grungy brown..
One more thing, I commute to work every day by bike and I will be also commuting tomorrow—I'm assuming it won't be an issue to ride it like this...would anyone like to confirm that?
It looks so bad without it...

I use these . They look great, the price is right, and they make you popular on group rides.

Black saddle = black bar tape. If you're itching to have some white, you could get some white brake covers (which are easier than tape to clean).

Ended up getting some black tape.
I'm not so sure about it yet. It's going to take some getting used to..
Please disregard dirty dishes—I'm a single working slob.

Cork is a good material. It keeps the moisture out. Its very light, sustainable? Color it with a a felt Sharpie, if necessary. You make a statement by using cork.
Plastic caps are different. They tend to loosen, tend to get stolen, more expensive, needs to match.
Cork is also used on other parts of the bike as well.

$16 from rivendell; although they may be the last pair you buy.
Velox plugs also secure with screws $6.
