A REALLY important issue

A chain is a chain. It's a dirty, grungy consumable. I wouldn't drop a ton of money on one.

I have one. It looks great. The chain hasn't been cleaned in any fashion for over 2 weeks, you can still see the red. Cleaned the chain with Simple Green and mineral spirits, at least twice, and the color doesn't seem to be coming off yet. I'll probably buy another to replace it with when the time comes and I find a good deal.

money spent on quality items is easy to justify.
this one is not easy for me based solely on its aesthetic appeal.
Just so you know Not everything has to be matchy matchy. Trying too hard can end up looking pretty lame and poseury.

A chain like that will add 50W to your power output and at least 5mph to your average cruising speed, as long as you keep it clean enough that the red is always visible.
If you buy a chain like that and don't clean it to the point the red is always visible it will sap your strength, cause the fleas of a thousand camels to infest your cycling shorts, and ensure that whichever way you are riding you'll be going into a headwind while those around you will gain a free push from the headwind gusting around you.

I tried to break up the monochromatic scheme by adding a little blue, should add more(my seat bag, garmin, chain catcher and bottle lids are blue [obviously not shown] like the speedplays).

Use white lightening lube, it's wax based, so it stays pretty clear

Buy it. It's freaking cool. I never let my chain get that dirty. Easy enough to keep them clean and lubed.

Here's my KMC red & black chain after about 1700 miles and 4 or 5 cleanings with Simple Green and mineral spirits.

Wait until you cheat with another bike, then buy yours that chain to get yourself out of the doghouse.

If one is worth 50 watts, can I buy 4 and get 200? If so, do I have to have them with me when I ride or is just buying them good enough?

Also, basically this ^^^. I switch between wet and dry lube depending on conditions/season. With the dry stuff (T-9 usually), it doesn't turn completely black unless you neglect to wipe it down occasionally. Wet (FinishLine Wet) will leave it a black sticky mess no matter what.
