Just got the Quad Lock Case for iPhone 5

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just got the Quad Lock Case for iPhone 5

Returned the Garmin 510 - just was too much for me. Going to use my iPhone as my bike computer since I have been carrying with me all the time anyway. Had not seen a quality mount but saw this company and there was a 20% promo code so not bad:

Using bluetooth sensors with Strava to do everything else the 510 did. Will post follow up once I get it and mounted on the CAAD.

Does the iphone have enough battery life to keep the screen lit for a 3-5 hour ride?

Yes, please let us know your thoughts. I've had my eye on this also. I've been using iRunner app on my phone and it works great. You can click the lock button on top of your phone after you start the app (to save on battery life) and she still talks to you every five minutes. Lets you know your speed and how many miles you have gone. Also says other things , just can't remember what exactly. I'm about to try bike brain app also. Heard some really good things about it. I just can't see spending $250 on one of those Garmins rite now. At least in my situation my phone works great for me. Others it may not. Please tell us your thoughts on the mount!!!

To give you an idea about battery life... I run Strava when i go on long rides. One full charge will last about 100 miles if i dont turn the screen on more than a few times.

My opinion the Rokshield V3 by Rokform is better.

Exactly. Heaven forbid you can see the screen of your cycle computer all the time. I don't know how much longer than 8 hours my garmin lasts because that's as long as I've tested it so far. That's with the screen on 100% of the time, btw.

If you can't leave the screen on, you might as well put it in one of the free phone ziplocks you get at events and place it in a jersey pocket. It's just functioning as a data logger.

i've just received this device and although the design and quality is very good, there is no way to attach a battery booster for the iphone 5. Its good for the short commuter type cyclists but no good if you are out on a 100km + trek. I should have saved the money and invested in the garmin. Oh well, live and learn
