Is this a good deal or could I do better?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this a good deal or could I do better?

I have never ridden on the road before. Always been a mountain bike person. Wanted to start getting on the road when the trails are muddy. Is this a good deal? I don't have to have the best bike but would like one that isn't too expensive in case I don't really enjoy it but would like a decent bike if I do. It's a 2008 cannondale six13 with tiagra components for 600. What do you think? Keep looking for better deal? Have seen some older bikes with better components but are old ultegra as good as newer lower models?

Here's the link.

You can do better. Just FYI, my neighbor bought a used 2010 Ridley Excalibur full carbon with Ultegra and Fucrum 5 wheels for $900 last week. Every market is different, but I think you should be able to find something newer.

If it fits, I don't think it's too bad for $600 (not the $750 listed). Looks like Tiagra calipers and crankset - along with the rest of the group and a name-brand frameset. Sure, you could probably do a little better. But that bike would easily fetch $600 here.

Agreed. While it's not a smoking great deal, I do think it is fair for $600 (not $750). Original MSRP was $1350 https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...13+6&Type=bike
