Reasonably priced sunglasses?
I love the looks of all those Oakleys and Rudy Project sunglasses and such, but would rather not drop $200+ on sunglasses.
What are you guys wearing that works well and is under $100?

Lucky you if you do not need Rx glasses. Amazon has a lot of them.

Tifosi Tyrant at the suggestion of threads here. I was also about to drop $$ on oakley's until i saw the reviews here. I never wore sunglasses until i started cycling, so the thought of even spending the $50 i spent on these would have been laughed at a few years ago. after getting sick of buying $10 CVS glasses every few months, i got a good set. so far, i love them, and they have 3 interchangeable lenses.

Which lenses do you guys use with these? The Fototec stuff looks cool, but I'm not sure which lenses are good for cycling, since I don't wear sunglasses ever.
Single fototec (high speed red, light night, etc.) vs. the three (ac red, clear, smoke) standard lens.

Generally a good idea to wear UV blocking glasses, clear or colored, if outside during daylight for any length of time. For cycling, I prefer a light neutral (grey) tint, which also is good in the shade and on overcast days.

I bought the Roubaix Gloss Black's and they didnt come with the Fotec lens. They came with a smoke, EC and GTs lenses. The EC and GT work well in different lighting - I read they are good for sports like golfing (Im not a golfer though). I also ordered a set of clear lenses for riding in the mornings when its dark. Im very happy with the whole set-up even though I primarily use the smoke and clear.

I found a pair of safety glasses that don't look like it at walmart for 5 bucks that have held up for two years now. The expensive ones get lost in a week, the cheap ones I can't seem to ever get rid of.

Although I like the Tifosi Pave's, the lenses keep breaking at the contact point. I've moved on and currently using Tifosi Roubaix's and very happy with them. Not quite as light, but better wind protection and much more durable. These have lasted about 6+ months which is great for me.

I really like my uvex hawk sunglasses I got for $50 a couple years back. They look like the newer sgl 100 model. The blaze look good at $46 too.

Dark enough for daytime use; Lightens enough for night use.
I use the Tyrant.

Tifosi Pave with fototec Red for me. i like being able to have the same lens cover me for different light conditions without messing with them. This really comes in handy later in the fall when our thurs. evening ride starts getting darker at the end.

If you take care of them, i.e. always place them in their case when you're done and clean them properly they should last you a long time.

Ended up going with Tifosi Tempt in Smoke Fototec (47.7 - 15.2% light transmission). Will report back on them when they get here.
