Am I a performer?
I've been a solo rider with most of my riding over the past 7 years, but this season I've been riding with many more than usual. I've also found I can drop them sooooo easy, and they're not considered slow in the local scene. (One even tried racing me when we both dropped the rest of the group).
Today I reset my cyclocomputer with cadence and wheel measurements, and went on a 66 mile very hilly ride to and from along the coast of Maine with 25 mph headwinds on the way back. I had an average cadence of 90 rpm, and an average speed of 19.8 mph. What CAT would I be? And should I be racing?
I know it's hard to gauge my performance without knowing the exact measurements of my route.

Depend what you mean by "should". You won't break any records, but you could have fun out there.

And it's especially difficult to judge the size of your e-wang without pictures.

OP, methinks you belong in the TdF. I mean you are doing all that stuff without structured training, a masseuse, a chef and all the other cushy stuff that comes with being a pro. Yep, get yourself a pro contract pronto!

Op in case you are not in fact trolling....riding will never be even remotely like racing. Everyone starts as a cat 5. Until you show up and race....you're not a racer. If you want to compare average speeds might I suggest triathlons or tts.

To the op how's this for a comparison.
I did a 100 mile charity ride (first time ever) two years ago after riding mostly by myself my entire life...
I pulled the fast group by myself for 75 miles until they all dropped off my wheel
I averaged 23.? miles an hour for the ride...
I am a low cat...
I have a huge e-wang and can make up the numbers to prove it...
