Ti is out because the inherent weight limit of Ti parts. It is not out in some places like cassettes but anyhting that my life on thebike depends on (like pedals or bolts) it is.
Why the weight savings... good question, SO I can be equal to others out there I guess... of course dropping 30 pounds would be better...

hmm, so that rules out one of my suggestions.
I would go for the fork and wheels.
IMO thats where you'll drop the most weight.

The pound off you is going to do more then off your bike.
2.2Kg=2200g = ~1lb
Above you have 400g @ $????, you need another 1800g just leave the wheels at home.

Have you been to the Weight Weenies sight and looked at the bike component weight lists for all the bikes?
https://weightweenies.starbike.com/listings.php
or light bikes some 9 lbs. ? each bike has a bill of materials

P.S. please do not turn this into a it is the rider thread. I am working my butt off training to get stronger. This is not about that, I just want to know what the teoretical limit on the bikes weight is (BTW this will end up being a 3700 dollar 2100 with all the upgrades. With a new carbon frame (thinking 5.9 or orbea, etc) the bike the bike will end up around 5500 which is about the price of the full carbon version off the shelf... this has been discussed)"
I think you missed the original post. As he stated, the weight (his weight) will come off. He is simply looking for suggestions to reduce the weight of his bike. I agree with what was mentioned in several of the posts. Fork and wheels. I also think you are right in waiting until you lose more weight to buy the new stuff. And let me add this, from someone who also lost a considerable amount of weight, CONGRATULATIONS and keep up the good work! ROn

a >200g saddle? ditch that cushy seat for something like a selle italia slr and
you can easily drop 75-100g. if weight is all that matters, then comfort should
not be an issue.

Cushy... far from it...
We all know saddles are a personal preference and I can not do a sub 200 gram saddle. My 280 gram saddle can be uncomfortable at times.
I am looking for a as light as I can get being ridable and keeping some level of comfort. Not about getting the lighest bike possible...

BTW, gram for gram a tubular wheel will be stronger.....So except more strength out of a 1400 gram tubular wheel than a 1400 gram clincher wheel. Why? Because first of all the braking zones on the rim don't have to hold back tire pressure like they do on a clincher and thus need less reserve metal. Secondly, you don't need metal lips (extra metal) to hold the bead of the clincher.
Plus the tires are lighter etc.(don't need tubes, rim tape)

Oh yeah, these wheels were built for me at 205 pounds. They held up fine to a season where I topped out at 215 pounds though. If you talk to Mike he will be able to build a set of wheels that will be perfect for you.

Spend your money on wheels. But don't get tricked into thinking Ksyrium Sl's are that light, you can build lighter wheels for less or around the same price. Open Pro rims are light, Aerohead rims are a bit lighter, try Hugi hubs, American Classic or if you have the bux Tune hubs. Also Try Ti spokes, although you are fairly heavy you may need to put 32 hole up front as well if you go ti. you can also save quite a bit with superlite tubes and Conti supersonics or Veloflex record tires. (both clincher).
