Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Soft hands need good gloves....

So I am pretty sure I've worn the padding / gel right out of my riding gloves...and I admit it, I have soft hands and they sometimes hurt when I ride for awhile...recommend me the best riding gloves you've used as I am in the market....my tender falanges thank you in advance. Oh..and I love to go fingerless....think on that.

Love my Assos bibs so I thought I'd try their gloves. Now they're my favorite gloves. Don't know what they use in their products but they just work.

Ride more, touch yourself less and HTFU!

Oh, and watch the positioning of your hands on the bike/handlebars

You didn't specify a price range, and you said you wanted the best, so that would be either the Rapha Grand Tour gloves or the Dromarti La Grande.

What can you do to reduce the pressure on your hands?

More core strength? Longer reach? More drop?

Honestly, I don't get the "how do I get more padding on my bars / gloves threads."

Grumpy old man returning to work now...

I like the older Castelli Rossa Corsa gloves. You can find them for $30ish online

I am riding more..but touch self...not an option, happily married...heh heh.

I think I do need to move my new seat forward as I'm reaching a bit, this may have something to do with it.

Thanks for all the real opinions, I'll check out the Castelli, Specialized, and other gloves mentioned.

My comment was a joke in response to the porno implications. Sorry if you took it in response to asking for help.

One thought is are you putting too much weight on your hands? The saddle position should be relatively level and cause you to support most weight on your legs/sit bones. I wonder if your saddle nose is titled down causing to to slide forward.

the first I wore gloves, I actually found it bothering. My hands would push forward in the hoods, and the skin in between my fingers would get pinched by the glove. When I took them off, it was so much more comfortable.
