Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tire Width for wide wheels

For time Trialing and triathlons I have Flo 60's that are 24.5 mm wide. I'm thinking of getting Continental Supersonics but should I get 700x20 or 700x23? Thanks

Theory is that 20mm will still be more aero than 23mm, but the wide rims will result in less of an aero penalty than a narrower rim would when switching from 20mm->23mm.

This is more of a question for Slowtwitch.

Did you look at Flo's website? Didn't they recently test a variety of tires and conclude the 4000s was significantly faster?

I don't believe they tested against the Supersonic though; it was the Bonty R4 Aero, Michelin Pro4, and one of the Vittoria 320tpi variants.
