Jerseys that don't sit so low!

Why can't I find a cycling jersey that doesn't sag so much when I load up the pockets? I have several different brands, and only one (Craft) fits me perfectly. I have jerseys from Voler, Champ Sys, PI, Castelli (though Euro stuff is totally different), and then some cheapo Performance and Nashbar house stuff, and most of them sit too low on my back. Part of my problem is that I don't have the typical build of a cyclist, I'm kinda big in the shoulders and arms, and I don't really fit into smalls (for non-Euro brands). Medium is nice and fitted around the upper part but is kinda loose in the lower part, and sags more than I want in the back, esp. when the pockets are full of energy bars and phones and such. I don't know - even if I could fit into a small - if the overall length of the jersey would still be too long.

I don't think I have a short torso, but maybe I do, as I can't seem to find a jersey that sits nice and high. So who's happy with what brands, especially for those who like to like to have the "race fit"?

    It's trial and error.

If you can't find something that fits off the shelf, you can maybe find a tailor to alter what you already have to fit better. I'm doing that with some baggy vests right now.

I'd probably be in that same category, but the race fit stuff is usually way too tight on the arms and shoulders. In fact, the Voler and CS jerseys I have are club cut mediums, and they fit bang on around my arms and shoulders, just too baggy elsewhere. This sounds like it's just a "me problem".

You are working against physics. Loading up any pocket on any material that is inherently stretchable will result in the problem that you are experiencing. Just because it fits, does not mean it will hold. Pack less.

Used the wrong words. Don't mean "loaded up" as in packed to the gills. Just typical stuff, a phone, an inflator, and a few energy bars/gels/chews spread out over 3 pockets. I think it's pretty typical. I probably wouldn't have this problem if I could fit into smaller race cut jerseys.

Buying race cut Euro stuff (Castelli and Giordana mainly) helped me. I'm fairly thick from the waist up, although I don't have big arms so I'm not quite in the same boat as you...but I've come to like the tight fit in the shoulders, particularly once I'm on the bike. I've also come to terms with wearing very tight jerseys, particularly since it really does eliminate the sag issue. IME, if it's not tight, it's going to sag no matter what.
    Cars man, whyyyyyy?!?!?!?!

I have a Squadra jersey that seems to fit up pretty high compared to Hincapie and Verge, fwiw.

I vote go euro/race cut, but try a few different brands. At some point embracing the tight fit makes everything work a little better. I'm fortunate in that my team kit is Capo which has a great race cut for me that let's me out phone, mini pump, gels and keys in my pockets on training rides while keeping them nicely in place but not swinging around. I've got a Descente jersey that also has a similar tight fit that does almost as well as the capo stuff.

Then get a Voler/CS race cut medium. Should have same shoulder cut, but snugger around the waist since they are for more athletic and fit riders.

I've got three Capo jerseys that fit me very well as a guy with a short torso. The fit is tight but not uncomfortable. I usually carry tube, inflator, levers, a multitool and chain tool in one pocket and a cellphone in another along with keys or ID.

Race cut. Club cut jerseys have to cover the gap between them and your (non-bib) shorts so nobody sees your back hair.
