Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SHimano SANTE

Hi All
I am new to this web site and I have just acquired a new GUERCIOTTE Road Bike, it has Shimano SANTE components on it. I have a broken break lever on the right side (rear I believe) I am trying to find a replacement. Any help in this area would be greately appreciated. I can be contacted at 678-410-4207. The only reason I am keeping this groupo is because it is original and prestine..... Thanks in advance for any help or advise.....Rob Werner (BodFather )

I've seen Sante stuff on Ebay from time to time. Probably the only place you're going to find it.

the sante group is considered by some to be collectible, so be prepared to throw down some green in a bidding war. look for someone who's selling the brake levers as 'nos' -- new old stock. otherwise, you'll wind up getting a shifter that's endured the ravages of time from 1988 forward.

i've seen brake sets go for around 40-70 bucks, depending upon how heated the bidding gets. good luck!

(i have sante brakes and hoods on my pista)
