Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I crave pickled beets after a long ride. Maybe I need iron or something...

I agree with the bolded. The first time you eat a beet you may be like WTF is wrong with my parts...but do not worry, that is just the beets turning everything red. I really like beets, have three in the fridge that I am going to eat this weekend.

I like beets. I grow some in my small garden. Pickled beets are awesome!

Juicing can be a great way to concentrate the nutrition in healthy foods including beets. For me, it's not always easy to eat the amount of fruits and vegetables I should. Juicing helps me do that and minimizing the amount of fiber I consume which does help my performance on a bike.

The vascular effects of beetroot is so incredibly fast. I once drank a pint of beetroot juice and nearly fainted.
