Route 2 in Virginia (VA-2) - are there places to eat?

I'm thinking of doing an 84 mile ride from Stafford VA to New Kent VA this summer to visit some friends. 40 miles of the route is on route 2 (VA-2). Has anyone ever rode this route and are there small towns along it with restaurants or supermarkets to eat, hydrate, rest? Here's the google map route: http://goo.gl/maps/daoBx

I have not taken the route but there are usually little country stores in area's such as that. you may want to also ask this is the regional forum

Since you have already mapped this on Google, use streetview to see what is available in the towns along the route. Bowling Green -most likely has some place to stop and their is a convenience store at Hanover Courthouse. You may need to amend your route to pass by some country stores.

I have no direct knowledge of this route, but I've ridden a lot in rural Virginia and never had trouble finding a place to stop and tank up.

I expect there'd be a lot of possibilities near Quantico. Bowling Green has a bypass, so surely places to stop there. Hanover will as well.

If you're truly concerned, take three water bottles. Otherwise, don't sweat it.
