Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm BACK!!

Woo! Finally! Rode for 3 hours yesterday! First day back from the c-bone "incident"! My g/f sewed up my tights, so I was good to go.... 'til I hit the dog.
Yep, that's right. Some little scumbag long-haired chihuahua thingy ran in front of my tire while I was doing about 23MPH. I wnet down on my left side and tore up my knees and hip. And my tights. Sigh.
The dog had a broken back, and wasn't there when I rode by today. That was a nice change.

Anyway, just wanted to shout about being back on the bike! It feels so good!!!!

Too bad it wasn't Paris Hilton's rat biyatch of a dog --- she and her expressionless, corpse-like face really irk me

Oh yeah, and glad to hear your back on the bike too

Welcome back! Hopefully you've met your quota for accidents this year, and the rest of the year will be with the rubber side down.

9 miles today, first day back after flu and bronchitis. It was all I could do, too. What a winter. Knee injury around Thanksgiving, cold at New Years, and then the flu about 20 days ago. 20 lbs overweight, and I am a slug. This is sooooo embarassing...well, 100 days and I am a cyclist again.

Are you back au naturale or do you have a new Ti cycling accessory (in your shoulder)?

Hipcycler: tore up the skin. lol

Mojo: Au naturale, baby! I wanted some neat extra component in my shoulder, but the doc said it wasn't worth the risk. Oh well. Now I've got an interesing bump there.

Thanks all for the words. I'll try and stay on the bike from here on out.
