Interesting ride planned for the 4th of July?
Or just your same old loop?
I think I’ll probably break out the tandem, which I haven’t used in months, and see if I can get a wife or kid to head up the coast with me.
Then it's barbeque time!

You Know!? For Kids!
Leading our Cub Scout pack as we ride our decorated bikes in the neighborhood 4th of July parade. Have to figure out how to carry the US Flag, the Pack Flag and our Pack banner on bikes. Probably going to pull my old kid trailer with PVC flag holders intstalled on it.

Might be doing the Old Pro's ride with some of the Descenders...not sure. Let me know if you could use company up the coast if you don't end up going tandem.

I might get to do the 50 mile Louisville Loop with Da Boyz. Or maybe not. I'm at my wife's mercy on that one.

I'm going to hike to Cascade Pass.
You should dress down and bike in the Fremont Solstice Parade next year.

Doing a decent ride with probably 100+ riders. They tried it last year and had over 70 people show up. Should be a fun ride. It's 44 miles, but packed with plenty of hills.

One of the groups I ride with is doing a winery ride. Lots of climbing and drinking. Wondering how that's going to work out.....

We are going to do this ride on our tandem, with some other tandems. The idea is to get to altitude and start early, so as to avoid some of the heat.
Start: .....Madera, CA, US
Distance:.... 69.6 mi
Elevation:.... + 8614 / - 8582 ft

35 miles today, my longest ride yet (only been riding a month and a half). Nothing special: ride to St. Louis' Forest Park, around it X number of times (in this case, four) and then back home. Couldn't have asked for better weather. That did mean lots of walkers on the paved path, though.

I rode 40 miles today on Rt 16 from Rangely, Maine to Sratton, Maine and back. Nice ride, I'm on vacation in the area. I saw a moose on the way back, first bicycle moose. It didn't like the idea of a bike near it and took off into the woods even though I slowed way down and was still pretty far away.

Thought about the Old Pro's, done it in the past and its been fun. Unfortunately Couldnt make it. Ended up doing a quick 15 mile loop around the hood. Another local ride the sounded good was a memorial for Jackie Price-Dunn in North County.

Attempted my first metric century...made it 66 miles. The wind was low and the ride was good until I had a sidewall cut on my darn near brand new Conti 4000s tire. Noticed the damage at mile 24 or so. Limped 10 miles to a friends house and patched it up with duct tape. Ride saved. Tire? Not so much. Although the duct tape held well...I may land up replacing it anyway...
