Any of you jumping in the 11-speed bandwagon?
So on some hills, I feel like I need a bail out gear. Originally, I was planning on going 11-32 or 12-30, or even 12-32 (SRAM). But after the press release from Shimano on their 11 speed trickleling down to the Ultegra gruppo, I've been debating in my head for my next upgrade to whether sticking with 10 speed or just go 11. I was just going to get either Boyd Vitesse or Williams System 30 and one of the cassettes listed above. Then get a newer Ultegra RD to support the 32 cog and longer chain. But now I'm just thinking if going 11 speed is the best option. Same changes, but from 10 to 11... and I get to keep the 11-28 without any loss and gaining the 32. Though sometimes I wish that the gearing from 19 is 22 then 25 instead of 21 and 24. Anyway, do any of you think this is the best option? I know some or most will say HTFU, but you know what? Some just really need that bail out gear - and I happen to be just one of the "some".

I'll switch when I can get 11-speed 105 Di2. Possibly Ultegra, if I'm feeling pecunious.

Been on 11 speed Campy for a while, but I can't wait to build an 11 speed Ultegra electronic disc bike though...

I don't know if making the change to 11 speed is necessarily going to get you the 30 or 32T bail out gear you're looking for. A quick check of the Red 22 and DA 11 speed RD's indicates that they're both limited to 28T cassettes. They might work with something bigger, but it's not what they're advertizing. Even Campy's 11 speed groups offer nothing bigger than a 29T cassette.
That said, I have used a SRAM XG-1099 11-32 with a SRAM RED WiFli RD with a 2013 Red 10 speed group, and it worked beautifully.

Supposedly, Shimano is supposed to have their Ultegra RD to support an 11-32.

planning on making the change to electronic 11-speed this year, because I'm incapable of HTFU-ing...or just too lazy...also will probably go back to 50/34 from 52/36...

I've been on DA 11spd for the past few months and love having the range but as mentioned can't go beyond 28t currently. I also heard about Ultegra officially being able to support and supply up to 32t which could be great if you were going to go full kitty with the group.
As for getting on the 11spd bandwagon, I think most are still split between the "I have too many wheelsets to make it worth my while" and those that don't care.
I think if you're not sitting on a bunch of extra wheels that going 11spd makes lots of sense, and even if you don't do it this time around, I'd definitely suggest that when you buy your Boyd's or some other wheel that you get one with an 11spd compatible hub simply so you don't go through the same challenge later on!

Not saying I don't dream of it. A guy I ride with is a pretty top notch mechanic and says he hates the Campy 11 speed, much more difficult to adjust and not as durable. Out here in Indiana a 10 speed is about 10 speeds too many and the compact is pretty useless. 99.99 % of my riding is in the 50 tooth chainring. The compact was bought for where I might go and cycle, not for where I was. If I were doing it again I'd get the 42/52.

No supposedly about it. It's confirmed, which was the point I failed to make. I don't need 11 speeds, I want 11-32 with electronic shifting. Shimano has answered the call. (Although if they came out with an XTR electronic group that went bigger and was compatible I might go that route).

Negative. Also try rebuilding shimano or sram anything when it does wear out...oh wait, that's impossible.

My Campy Record nine speed works great and I have no intention of replacing it. However were I to buy a new grouppo it would be whatever is current or the past years Campy...but it would be Campy...
