Heh - that's practically what I eat ON my ~50 mile rides (usually pack 1 or 2 half PBJ&H sandwiches and a banana).

edited to add: most protein mixes recommend way too much; you can safely cut it in half or a third.
Or, this http://reviews.bodybuilding.com/Dymatize/Elite_XT/ with Almond Milk. It has whey plus numerous other protein sources.

Milk and I don't get along. So I stick with a almond beverage (basically the same as milk carbs and protein) and some extra carbs through fruit. Been using this recovery accelerator from Vega Sports the last week and have felt pretty good.

Just read this last night though. The section on additional protein is interesting. May go back to just having a nice cold coke.

You drink warm beer when you run out at home and the closest store doesn't sell it cold
You're just trying to start an argument to show how smart you are.

Ha, ya'll joke, but do you know that virtually all of the bananas we consume are not naturally occurring, are genetically identical and will likely be gone in our lifetimes? True story.

Glass of chocolate milk, a banana, jar of peanut butter, and a spoon. It's easier than cleaning PB out of the blender.

Very true. Banana disease morphs quicker than man can develop resistant banana strains. Bananas are doomed.

We've been on one variety of banana since the 60's, when the previous variety was all but decimated. It's not clear if another acceptable alternative is waiting in the wings (current bananas aren't as tasty as the previous cultivar and there may only get worse).

Okay. How do you arrive at that precise temperature range though? I just buy a case and dump it all in the refrigerator for when it's needed.

Take out a can and let it rest at room temp for a bit before pouring it. It'll vary, but at least give it 5 minutes.

You mean you don't have a beer fridge set at this temp?

Alright this chocolate milk stuff is new to me,so I went out and got a bottle of hershey's chocolate syrup to try it out.
For some reason this doesn't sound right with all the corn syrup in it,corn syrup is the first ingredient listed on the label.
So what kind of chocolate milk mix do you use?

Half a sandwich (almond butter and honey), a handful of dried fruit (apricots, preferably) and a glass of whole milk.

Are there any protein powders out there that dont have a ton of cholesterol in each scoop?

That stuff is crap. In fact, good luck finding any chocolate syrup that isn't crap and most don't even have much chocolate and are called "chocolate flavor" syrup. You can go to a natural grocer and find stuff that is maybe a tiny bit less bad but so far I haven't had much luck with syrup or powder. if you want real chocolate syrup go buy a nice higher cocoa content chocolat bar (or baking chocolate) and make your own.

Looks like a good starting point:

I use the unsweetened/unflavored version from NOW Foods and it has 5mg (2% of RDA). Seems reasonable to me.

Besides, cholesterol makes your hair look great.

I do a nice bar of 70% dark chocolate-organic, 2% milk, and bananas. I may hit the peanut butter as well now.

I also find it interesting that they don't list the ingredients on their website. What are they hiding?
