Factor Power Measurement Cranks
I saw this, did a search on the forum and didn't find a thread, so figured I would start one since there seems to be a lot of power measurement device discussions lately.
These/this looks interesting:

Cool looking crank. Cool looking, but slow, website. What's the price and how does one buy it. They make no mention of dealers or a future release date. Just more vaporware, I guess...

I was looking at this the other day - my understanding is that this is an option when buying complete bike, but not available separately at this time.

The Factor Power Crank can communicate in both ANT and ANT+. The latter allows compatibility with Garmin computers, but the 4hz (four times per second) rate of data transmission can be limiting.

The hertz (symbol Hz) is the unit of frequency in the International System of Units (SI). It is defined as the number of cycles per second of a periodic phenomenon
If you're going to be pedantic, it's best not to be wrong.

A "periodic phenomenon". Say, like sending 4 samples a second? Or maybe even just one sample per second?

Looks like they are pushing the ability to get really geeky with your pedal stroke, same kind of stuff the Vector people have been talking about. Left vs. right power, plotting the force vs. crank angle, looking at back foot down pressure.
Conventional wisdom, I believe, doesn't put a lot of value in this stuff, though.

I think the added data on force versus crank angle etc., would be of even less value.
