I have 3 road bikes. One is a during the week trainer or bad weather bike; the other is my weekend sprinter and the final is my weekend climber. Thinking of getting one just for the holidays.

Having multiple bikes is like having multiple kids. If you buy something for one, you've got to buy it for all of them. I have 3, one Is sentimental and I won't get rid of it, one is a bad weather bike/mass start race bike, and one is my fair weather/Eddie Merckx TT/group ride bike.

I have more than one road bicycle.

Titanium Hasa - used for long distance
Aluminum Giant - could be used for racing, used on trainer
Steel Thorn - used for touring

... to name my most used three.

    Must have a backup bike.

One is set up with a compact crank and wide-range cassette
One is set up with standard crank and narrower-range cassette

I choose which depending on the terrain I'll be riding, or if the other one is out of commission for some reason.
