Strava Segments Question
I'm new to Strava. So today, I targeted 3 segments that I'll pass and compare my time with. After uploading, only 1 segment registered on my ride. Any reason why that would be the case? TIA

Direction is one possibility. GPS inaccuracy is another - I've has segments not trigger because my GPS showed that I was riding parallel to the segment, 10 feet or so away. It happens. Just keep riding.

OK thanks all. 1 is a hidden segment indeed. Then I found out there were 2 other segments that I rode in that did not register - Ohh well. Strava is still fun. Makes "riding alone" more enjoyable, imho.

You have to compare the segment closely with the route you actually rode, as recorded by your GPS. Strava is generally pretty tolerant of GPS noise, but it could be an issue. Maybe your phone lost the satellite signal at some point, maybe you didn't get all the way to the end, etc.

I have had SEVERAL rides where I go out and KILL a hill. So excited to just get home, plug in and upload only to find out that hill never registered! It is beyond frustrating.

I've had it happen too. You can email strava support, be sure to send them your activity number, and the segment number, and they will link them together.

It looks like I had some wacky readings on my Edge 500 on the latter part of the segment I was travelling on. It is so far off the route. Actually first time I have noticed this.

Strava segements keep me pushing myself to go faster, and ive been climbing up the ranking ever since starting riding this year. Very good tool if your not with a group to push you when tired.
