coasting, few quotes are worthy of him, and of those, even fewer printable in a family forum......quote 3alarmer
No @coasting, you should stay 100% as you are right now, don't change a thing....quote Heathpack
Not a statement against truckers in general (I've had many of them move over and slow down to give me plenty of clearance, or wave me through an intersection) but last night on a group ride we had turned a corner and were about 50 feet past the intersection when we stopped on the shoulder to regroup. One truck was coming in the oncoming lane toward a stop sign at the intersection. Another semi truck with trailer was making the same turn we had and nearly clipped a few of us with the trailer rather than wait 10 seconds for the other truck to pass so he could swing wider. I know most truckers are on a schedule and time is money but for Pete's sake, use your freakin' head man. We would have gladly moved even further onto the shoulder (though we were already in the gravel and well outside of the fogline) but never had the chance. The stupid thing was that another 200 yards down the road, he stopped his truck and got out to talk to another trucker pulled over in front of him. So much for being in a hurry.
Lead, follow or get out of the way
Those stoopid Trikke things
Gasoline powered bicycles
Indifferent or poor road infrastructure
Joggers with earbuds blaring, oblivious to the possibility someone might be coming up from behind.
Today on our ride we saw three dogs in the road up ahead. One was actually running back and forth in the road. The other two were on the side of the road half in the ditch. As we got close we saw one was a sheep. The other dogs were herding it.
Drivers pulling to the right then doing a U turn right in front of me. Do they not know what my $10 Alex rims will do to their paint?
Drivers who ignore my presence in the roundabout. No problem; I'll just miracle my ass out of the way.
Deer. Deer should be taught the gift of suicide by car.
