In practice, double pacelines also give better draft than single pacelines. Based on experience, I'd say the savings is roughly 10% on average. Obviously as the width of the peleton increases the savings increases from there.

As a simple to remember rule one can use this one:
The second rider gains 25% on the first rider and the third rider gains 25% again on the second rider.
The second rider gains 25% on the first rider and the third rider gains 25% again on the second rider.

Isn't a proper paceline always "double", since the riders going to the back and blocking the wind are the second line?
