    New Bike

I recently got hit by a driver not watching where she was going, personal injury aside, my poor machine has gone to meet its maker. I'm looking around bikewarehouse because who doesn't love nearly half price bikes, and I was hoping for some advice on a new road bike to buy from them. My last bike I just got from my lbs and I just got the cheapest road model I was comfortable with, but with the reduced prices on the site I have a bit more freedom, I'm looking for something under 1k US dollars and any advice would be super appreciated I ride about 250 mpw, thank you!

is bikewarehouse the only place you are considering? what size do you need? try this 105 equipped bike for $899 if you like it http://www.performancebike.com/bikes...551_1128616_-1

It would help if you post your budget or price range.

If you look around, there are deals to be found. I picked up a Felt Z85 for 950 on Thursday.

Thats a load of miles per week...............you have a fulltime job????

I am lucky with my profession getting in 80 miles a week.

With your budget look to BD but look at PB and other such companies like Nashbar as well. With that budget you will be lucky to get full Shimano 105 without some mix thrown in there somewhere.

But you possibly could get it. In the Shimano lineup at least go 105 and if you go SRAM go Rival at least which I believe is on the heirarchy of 105 in the SRAM lineup <could be wrong on that assumption.

My 105 total drivetrain bike runs like a well oiled sewing machine < knock on wood for right now! Good luck!

He said he is trying to stay under $1,000. Performance has some 105 bikes for that price. I linked to one of them. OP, what do you think of that Diamondback? has 105 shifters and derailleurs.

Haha thanks, I'm a full time student but I ran 80 mpw in high school so I've gotten really good at squeaking in workouts here and there, indoor cycling is a saving grace when it gets dark out. What do you guys think of the specialized allez sport compact? Link here http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/articl...er-1000-32772/ I like the gearing. For all the riding I do I'm relatively new to cycling, and it's been an adventure learning about gearing and all of the aspects of a bike, it's fascinating picking up something new.

I like it, I think I've fallen for the specialized bike tough, love your tag!
