Need help finding right spoke and where to find it

Broke a spoke wrapped a chain derailier limits off. I have zipp 404 with 182 hubs spec say i need 158mm sapim spoke all i can find is 160 mm. I know it is only 2mm but will it make a difference. I have done my own wheel work for years and can replace it if I can find it. Any help would be very appreciated.

I think his derailer limit is adjusted wrong and it caused him to take out a spoke.

My typing is not good. My limit screw was off and my chain got wrapped between the hub and the cassette. I bent a spoke that broke before i got back. Can't find a replacement well 6 want to replace all that where damaged. LBS wants to sell me a new rim and does not seem to want to get the replacement.

The 160 should not cause a problem. Especially in a deep rim, any spoke end that would protrude above nipple won't matter. It would be a problem if you bottomed out the nipple and ran out of threads to properly tension the spoke, but only being 2 mm off that is highly unlikely. If you are still concerned, you can get a good LBS to cut and rethread the 260 to make it into a 258. There is a machine for this purpose that some LBS will have. Buy some extras. They will come in handy.

Forgot to mention. Try bikehubstore.com for either 258mm or 260mm. Brandon is a champ and will fix you up. If that doesn't work, just google it. There are tons of places.

Any respectable bike shop should be able to cut and tread a spoke to any length. Find a different bike shop.

Looks like you have some choices in Houma...not sure if that is where you bought the bike but it might be worth looking elswhere.

Note link is to silver CX Rays, but he has other Sapim spokes if you need something different.

Uhhhmmmm...the OP says he has a 182 hub. That hub uses straight pull spokes, so none of your advice is really any help. Most shops don't stock them. I tried to order them from Zipp last week for an '08 202 and they don't stock them anymore. They can obviously be ordered from other distributors, but unless the OP can find a shop that normally does work on Zipp wheels, good luck finding them. And if you have a 700c wheel 158/160mm is WAYYYYYY too short.
Please don't call them "brifters", that just sounds stupid. Really.

I was just going to say - call wheelbuilder, ask them what you need, and they probably have it. Their customer service is beyond excellent.
