Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You will get much more/better feedback with photos. Even bad photos are better than no photos. And be sure you shoot the right (drive side) of the bike.

You might be surprised by the feedback that you receive over there, which may range to "No. Don't spend the money fixing this" to "Holy Cow! I'd ride that in a minute!" Should be interesting for you, at the very least. Many will have direct experience on your particular bike, and certainly on all of the components involved...

I'm recommending either of the C&V forums, since you're not really looking to sell or to buy, but rather to determine what's worth doing to bring this bike back to running shape. So either C&V or C&V Appraisals would work. Have fun! PG
Thanks again PG I'll try and get some pics with the iphone at least today if I have some time. Though I doubt very many if any will have direct experience with my particular bike since it is not a name brand (Braun) many are likely to recognize...the components are a different matter I'm sure

I saw that a while back when I googled them. I even emailed them but since I'm 1000's of miles away they weren't a lot of help (but did respond) and computer records from then don't exist
