1:1 but I failed to get the stinger out so it was irritating for 3 days. I'll take a flat.

    Flats 2, bees 1.

I had a bee bounce off my cheek today, about an inch away from my (open) mouth.

4 stings since late May, in around 1100 miles. Hammie, head, and two on the chest.

No flats! Now I'm doomed though.

1/2 Sucker got stuck right in the hip leg crease while I was humming along in the drops. Did not see him go in and had no idea why my leg started burning.

No bee stings this year but plenty of mosquito bites.

Dropped a hive double with a full super at my feet when trying to move it out of a ditch at night - They were mean bees and I was nailed greater than 50 times as that's when we quite counting the stingers we were scrapping off my body - Luckily I was wearing half my gear so they only got my neck right hand and legs as they crawled up my pant legs - Went home an took some Benadryl and 80mg prednisone and rested - I was swollen and itchy for weeks but man did I get more range of motion where ever they stung me...

~10:0. After a short break from cycling while my bike was in the works, I decided to go on a longer ride with some friends. During the first 15 miles of our 65 mile ride, A bug flew down my sporty/runny jersey tank. I figured meh, a lady bug or something made it in. I got stung once, figured it was a bee and kept on riding. Side went a little numb. 30 seconds later, about 10 more stings and my entire side was stinging. hopped off bike and whipped the jersey off.. Big hornet made it in there, got me a good 10 times. The next 20 miles felt weird, with half of my core being stingy/numb. Hopefully that's all I'll get this year!

It seems like an increase in the number of stings this time of year. And, for the record, they are rarely bees. They are mostly yellow jackets.

I was stung ~40 miles into a solo 60 mile ride. The burning actually woke my leg up for the last 20 miles. Must be something to that bee venom.

I'm ridiculously allergic to bee stings. I carry a kit with me. I'd have to call for an ambulance if I got stung riding. I had a bee run into me the other day and it seemed to get stuck on my arm hair. I brushed it off frantically, almost running off the road. That's as close as I've come in almost 30 years to a bee sting. Knock on carbon fiber...
    Alaskans for global warming.

I have never been stung by a bee, though I have been stung by a wasp when cycling but that was years ago. I also hardly have any flats. Only one so far this year, and it only happened 500 meters or so from my house, so I did not even bother to replace the tube right away (still had enough pressure to get home).

I've had 2 flats, and 0 bee stings this year. Both flats however happened right at the end of rides. One I went into the garage the next morning and the tire was dead flat, and the other I got off my bike when I arrived at work, heard a loud hissing noise, and my rear tire was flat.

As far as bees, I had a close call about a week ago. I had what I'm 90% sure was a bee/wasp fly into my mouth, but managed to quickly spit it out before anything happened. I saw it coming, but stupidly didn't think to close my mouth before impact.

    Do wasps count?
I was riding a local road (South Madison for those in the Chicago Burbs) when I got hit in the face by what (I think!) was a wasp.. poor little bugger rolled off and got stuck between my cheek bone and helmet strap and got his stinger into me (saw stars!)

Had ~ 4 flats this season, so 1:4

Close to what happened to me. Hit me between the bottom of the helmet, and my sunglass arms, and got wedged under the helmet. Little sucker got me right on top of the ear. Left the stinger behind, so I suspect that it was a bee. Wasps and hornets usually don't have their stingers pull out, and they can hit you multiple times.

When I stopped and took the helmet off, it fell out, and I was more concerned with pouring water over the ear than to look down and ID the remains.

Had one fly in my jersey last Saturday. The sting happened about 10 minutes later.

Of course this only happened because I looked at this thread last week.
