Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kirk's 10 year anniversary, Strong's 20 year, and they're join-hosting a bash up in Bozeman the 13th-15th. Anyone headed up there?

I'm actually flying in the week ahead, making a once-in-ten-years kind of vacation seeing both Yellowstone and the Tetons ahead of the party. Should be a great time, just wondering if any others around these parts were headed up that way.

My son and I rode around Yellowstone 2 weeks ago, and it is an experience a person should have at least once in their life. Be advised, the loop that takes you to Tower Falls is under construciton and there will be delays. I heard there is a fire going on right now so just take precautions.

Yeah, really hoping the fire situation improves before my trip. Most of the Yellowstone/Tetons time will be photography based rather than riding, so hoping that the clear blue sky up there is exactly that - clear and blue!

very unlikely that the fire situation will clear up by then. I just got back 3 days ago and the smoke and fires were only increasing. Some have been burning for over a month. The smoke was everywhere from Bozeman to Yellowstone. It was getting thicker on Sunday. I was actually on Hyalite during the lighting storm, which they suspect started that one. Yellowstone/Teton wasn't really too smokey, at least when i was there earlier this week, as the majority of the fires were away from there (Bozeman/Hyalite/Paradise Valley). However, there is a ton of road construction in the park.
