How do I tolerate office work if I fantasize about riding too much?
I find myself thinking about riding about 100 times an hour at work. It really makes work suck. Anyone have trouble getting their mind off the bike?

The only days I can focus at work are after really tough rides or races, because my legs are toast and so sore that all I want to do is sit at my desk and work to forget about the pain.

btw you can pretty much fill in the blank can't you? How do I tolerate office work if I fantasize about _______ too much? i.e. women, food, sleep, drinking. Tolerating work is the tough part.

You have cyclosis fixationitus.
To cure yourself, you need to focus on other activities that you may have been negelecting.
You should be thinking of another physical activity four times as much as cycling.
Is there anybody that looks hot in your office?

yea, problem with being a messenger.... you're not making much money, living in an expensive big city, and drivers want to kill you, good luck.
I check in here about once every hour. My job is just that exciting.

Whatever.
When are drivers not trying to kill you?
The OP lives in SF, should be easy to get a job, find a way to get by. People survive.
If you're really committed and loving of cycling, do it. You'll find out real quick if you want to ride all the time.
Otherwise, get an oxygen tent, some steroids, and go pro.

I work from home at a raised desk over an exercise bike. I'm pedaling as I write this.
Yet here I am on BF thinking about cycling during work.

Call in sick and go for a ride. But don't publicly post it on Strava or you'll get busted by your boss just like my buddy did.
