Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yup, I'm currently in the 220-225 range depending on the day, at 6'1" I really don't want to be below 180ish +/-, but dropping another 30-40lbs would be WONDERS for my performance and overall health.

So I talked to a wheel builder and he recommended:

HED Belgium Plus Rim - Aluminum 32 spoke
Sapim Strong Spokes
White Industry MI5 Hubs

$850 for the wheelset.
thanks for the update. and, good luck. if you still want the powertap, you should be able to get those for sub 1500 I'd suspect. though I certainly won't contradict the wheelbuilder... I just ride, so I don't have a pt too.

and, as I mentioned earlier, as much as they want the sale, Mike and Dave at November seem to be standup guys and will speak frankly instead of just telling you what you want to hear.
