55 miles through the austin hill country. austinites call it the dam loop, which goes from north austin down the 360 highway to bee cave then through lakeway and around past lake travis, a 2 mile long 3.5-4% caps it off. cooler damp morning but cleared up for the last hour.

Got out for a nice 40 miles on Sunday in southeastern RI https://ridewithgps.com/trips/1775161. Turns out that most of my route, which I'd planned earlier in the week, followed the Flattest Century in the East being held that day by the Narragansett Bay Wheelmen. TFCE is a big ride (2000 riders) so there were a lot of bikes on the road, which slowed me down a bit, but it was fun to see all the other riders. Resisted the urge to stop at one of the TFCE rest stops and pilfer an unregistered peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Got in 45 miles Sunday morning with and just over 3500 feet of climbing. Weather was amazing and the view along Puget Sound was glorious as always. Longest solo ride I've got to make so far, loved it!

Didn't ride this weekend due to family stuff, but Friday I did an aggressive 50-something miles that beat my best average mph for that route by .4 mph. Monday I spun 62 miles with no concern for pace. Both rides have some nice steep long climbs to get the ol' ticker ticking.

Bike MS Alaska. Definitely the first time I've ever pointed out beluga whales to the folks I was riding with. Two days in a row, no less.
