How many miles do you have on your carbon frame?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Now to know if it's a properly designed and built frame...that might be a bit harder. But I'll assume that the major bike companies either do or will offer warranties to cover
They are pretty much all properly designed and built.

My 2005 Trek 5000 has over 43,000 miles on it currently. It has plenty of dings and scratches on it. I use it as my fall / spring / rainy day bike. Our roads up here are typically bad and I have weighed between 220 and 250 lbs over the life of this bike. I think this speaks well to the durability of a carbon frame.

Carbon has rapidly improved both in stiffness and weight. So if you compare a 10-year old CF frame to a brand new one, you'd likely conclude the old one was a wet noodle. The reality is that new frame is much stiffer than the old one ever was.

The only real way to compare would be an old frame with zero mileage vs the same frame with a ton of miles.

2004 6/13 with well over 30K on it. 2011 Supersix I have put over 3k on in the last year, was told it had close to 8K when I bought it. No problems with either one.

I think it depends on the manufacturer. My 10 year old Calfee feels plenty stiff to me but Calfee has been making that frame since 1987.

Have 2006 GIANT TCR which was purchased in April 2007.

I would estimate 15,000 miles, 100 miles from SEAGULL Century yesterday. Had a few drops from learning to use my Speedplays, no crashes. Got some cosmetic damage from rocks hitting frame and a few rubs from bike cabling which got into finish however overall/paint finish is holding up well. Make sure you check on bike plastic cable guides.

Hope to get at least another 15K!!

My 2009 Specialized SL2 has 22,240 miles, about 240 hours of roller time.
